Smoke Seen Across DC As Flames Tear Through Roof Of Building (Video)

Smoke could be seen for miles and flames scorched through the roof of a business in Northeast DC on Tuesday morning.

Nearly two dozen units and 100 firefighters were called to the 1300 block of H Street NE where there reports of a massive fire that broke out in a three-story commercial building that threatened neighboring structures.

The call came at approximately 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday June 27.

Crews were able to get the flames under control within an hour, but remained at the scene to continue investigating and to knock down any small hotspots that flared up.

One firefighter suffered minor injuries. No other injuries were reported.

The cause and origin of the fire remain under investigation.
